Post-News Season To Share, a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation, provides grants to Denver metro area nonprofit agencies serving children, the hungry, the homeless and those in need of medical care. Funds are raised through reader and community donations and every dollar, up to the first $1 million donated, is matched with 50 cents by the McCormick Tribune Foundation. The Denver Newspaper Agency and the McCormick Tribune Foundation pay all administrative costs allowing 100 percent of donations to go directly to charitable organizations. Since it's inception, Season To Share has provided more than $12.5 million to support human service programs in the Denver metro community.
Last year the campaign raised more than $1 million breaking all previous fundraising records. The $1,111,175 raised from 7,263 donors was matched with $500,000 from the McCormick Tribune Foundation. Grants totaling more than $1.6 million were distributed to 60 local agencies serving children, the hungry, the homeless and those needing medical care.
The 2004 - 2005 Season To Share campaign will begin in mid-November 2004.
