Following is a list of opportunities for those who are able to devote one day a month to volunteering.

Big Brother or Big Sister
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado
Typically volunteers meet with a child during a month for a year. What does a Big Brother or Big Sister do? Walk the dog, go to a ball game, read a book, create a new recipe, fly a kite, tell jokes, just talk, listen.

Volunteer Sales Assistant
Colorado Historical Society & Museum
Sales position assisting visitors in finding merchandise at the Colorado History Museum Store. Use computer cash register/ point-of-sale, greet visitors, museum memberships and assist with telephone and special orders.

Friendly Visitor Volunteer
Denver Human Services
Friendly Visitors spend time with lonely seniors and disabled adults sharing stories and photos, visiting with pets, taking an afternoon drive, running errands, or helping with chores around the house.

Spellbinders Storytellers
Denver Public Schools
Spellbinders storytellers provide 20-30 minute storytelling sessions, sharing fairy tales, folk tales, literary tales, legends, personal experiences, and other stories of interest.

Saturday Adventure with Youth
Earth Walk
Earth Walk provides after-school outdoor education program and summer residential camp for low-income Denver youth in grades 4-6. We are looking for individuals interested in spending a fun day with youth for Saturday adventure outings once a month.

Lift a Hammer Volunteers
Family HomeStead
Help make a house a home for a homeless family by painting and cleaning an apartment for a new client family about to move in. Open to existing groups, the work days provide the opportunity for significant team or group building experiences.

Food Bank Volunteer
Food Bank of the Rockies
Volunteers needed for filling orders, repacking food products, sorting food and non-food products, light cleaning, and sanitizing. Because of volunteers, we can continue to operate and thousands of people have access to desperately needed food.

Food Pantry Assistant/Deliverer
Jewish Family Service
Assistance is needed with loading and unloading the truck, preparing packages, greeting clients and registering them in the computer. We also need drivers to deliver food once a month to those who cannot physically access the pantry.

Home Visit Volunteers
Metro Denver Bright Beginnings
Visit with parents/families of children, prenatal to 36 months, during a home visit. Provide families with materials in a gift packet, answer questions, connect them with resources and welcome their child to the community.

Hospice Assistants
Namaste Comfort Care<br> Volunteers provide emotional support to patients and families, companionship, personal care, light housekeeping, errands, bereavement services and 11th hour support. We also need volunteers trained in alternative and complementary therapies.

Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory
Volunteers are needed to teach students about migratory raptors at the Dakota Hogback in Morrison. This program teaches students about the life history, behavioral ecology, migration and amazing flights of raptors.

Child Care Volunteer
Warren Village
Help in a classroom as substitute teacher while teachers attend staff training sessions. You can request placement in a classroom with sleeping children or you can ask to be placed with infants who need lots of one-on-one attention.

The Wildlife Experience Museum
Are you interested in teaching about our environment through wildlife art and interactive natural history exhibits? Teach visitors more about the most current conservation efforts, wildlife behavior and cool science facts.

Food and Clothing Bank Volunteers
Community Ministry
Sort and count food, help make food bags for clients, sort clothing and work with clients. We're also looking for volunteers who are bi-lingual in Spanish and English.

Arvada Center for the Arts & Humanities
Volunteers provide tours of Gallery and Museum exhibits to both groups and individuals. They also provide tours and special activities for the Arts Day program. Docents are educators, tour guides and good-will ambassadors for the gallery/ museum department at the Center.
